Buck Full Moon Magic – A Night to Remember

ree

On the Buck Full Moon, July 10th, my friend and I gathered for a full moon ritual. We sat on my porch, each of us with our personal journals, oracle cards, and crystals.

I lit a candle and, using its flame, ignited some white sage in my smudge pot. I began by clearing my own energy, then cleansed the table and our supplies. I passed the smudge to my friend so she could do the same for herself and her tools.

Next, I called in the energies of the four directions, creating a sacred circle around us. We each took a piece of paper and wrote down what we wanted to release during this full moon. Using the candle flame again, we lit our papers on fire and placed them in the smudge pot. As our intentions burned and drifted up to the universe, a deer walked right past my house.

A deer has never come by in all the time I’ve lived here. To me, it was a sign from Spirit—a gentle reminder that we were on the right path.

After marveling at the magic of the deer, we took out fresh paper and pens and wrote out prayers we wanted to send out to the world. Just like before, we burned the papers in the smudge pot. As they burned, a small flicker bird flew in and sat quietly on the railing of my porch. It was such a sweet and unexpected moment—I took it as another sign that our prayers were being heard.

We each pulled oracle cards for ourselves and for each other. As we reflected on their messages, two—then three—crows began circling overhead, loud and clear. More signs from Spirit, affirming that we were exactly where we needed to be.

I spent a few moments meditating with my crystal skull. While tuning in, I heard the distant sound of drumming—soft but unmistakably clear. I questioned myself for a moment, wondering if I was imagining it. Then, one of the crows who had been silently circling let out a sharp call. It felt like confirmation that the message and the drumming were both real and meant for me.

Just before we closed our circle, we were talking quietly when a black cat walked right past us, just a few feet away. My heart was full of gratitude and awe as I thanked the guardians of the directions and gently closed our sacred circle.

This ritual was simple, but deeply magical. I’m already looking forward to the next full moon.
